Family Engagement and Empowerment Program

Sometimes it is hard to stay balanced… life isn’t always easy. Even the strongest people among us need a little help to work through some of life’s more challenging hurdles. FEEP is a program designed to strengthen and support families to overcome life challenges in a healthy, meaningful way with the goal of self-sufficiency.

Services Include:

  • Free confidential counseling services for individuals, couples and families
  • Connections to outside services to help when more specific or long term services are needed
  • Monthly Mental Health Topics
  • Quarterly Workshops on important mental health topics, including an annual Vision Board Workshop in December

Who is eligible?

  • Any adult participant with an open SCTCA Tribal TANF case.
  • Contact your TANF Case Worker to sign up.

How can counseling help me?

The focus of counseling is for you, the participant to get the information you need to make the best life possible for you and your family.

Some topics that can be addressed can include:

  • Communication skills
  • Self-Esteem Building
  • Depression / sadness
  • Anxiety
  • Domestic violence
  • Anger Management
  • Alcohol and drugs
  • Pre-martial or relationship counseling

Vision Statement

Onsite counseling services will provide SCTCA Tribal TANF participants, the tools needed to overcome the challenges associated with mental health concerns. As a result, SCTCA Tribal TANF participants will learn to cope with challenges in a healthy meaningful way. They will learn to nurture their families and work towards self-sufficiency.

Confidentiality

All counseling sessions are completely confidential and provided in a confidential setting. No information, other than attendance for WPH (if needed), will be shared with Tribal TANF staff without written authorization.
